Saku Koivu was the only player to score in the shootout against the Hurricanes. The goal in the shootout helped the Canadians to a 3-2 win.

It appears the Montreal Canadiens may hit a stroke of luck and get captain Saku Koivu back on the ice for tonight's Game 6 against the Boston Bruins, according to SLAM Sports.

Saku Koivu, out with a broken foot, may be able to play for the Canadiens in Game 6, this according to TSN. Koivu skated for the third straight day on Friday. "If he says he's ready," head coach Guy Carbonneau said. "He's not a rookie. He's been hurt before. He's been in this league long enough to know what he needs to do and what he can do. I don't see a problem."

Saku Koivu (broken foot) appears to be schedule to return to the ice later in the week, and the team is hopeful he will be available for a Game 7 if the first round goes that long, this according to the Montreal Gazette. The same schedule also appears to be in place for Francis Bouillion who is out with a bruised ankle.

Saku Koivu will almost certainly be on the sidelines for Game 1 of the Canadiens series with the Boston Bruins because of his broken foot, this according to TSN. The original prognosis would be that Saku would miss 2-3 weeks, and he just reached the second week mark meaning that he could still be a week away. In his absence, Alexei Kovalev will wear the "C."

Saku Koivu may not be able to be in the lineup at the start of the playoffs due to a fractured left foot, this according to NHL.com. "What's going to happen in the future, for the first game, we'll see next week," Koivu said. "Every day it feels better, but there's not much we can tell. We'll know a lot more in the next couple of days." Though not the team's most explosive offensive player, few would question that Koivu is the heart of the team. If Koivu were to miss the entire first round, the Canadiens would find themselves struggling to replace his production.

Saku Koivu missed the Canadiens' game against the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night. Koivu suffered a foot injury in Thursday game against Buffalo. The injury isn't considered serious but as of Sunday morning, Koivu is considered day-to-day.

Captain Saku Koivu and offensive defenseman Mark Streit are both out of action as the Montreal Canadiens take the ice against the Toronto Maple Leafs this evening, according to SLAM Sports. Both players are reportedly fighting foot injuries and their status moving forward is unknown.
