Martin Lapointe was traded to Ottawa Senators on Tuesday. The Blackhawks will receive a 2008 sixth-round pick for his services.
According to TSN.ca, Lapointe was signed to a three-year, $7.2 million contract by the Hawks in 2005 and will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
