Jaromir Jagr scored two goals Tuesday night to pass Jari Kurri and set the record for goals by a European-born player, according to the AP. "It's huge," Jagr said. "Jari Kurri was a guy everybody looked up to from Europe. He was our idol."

Jaromir Jagr, who required offseason surgery to repair dislocated left shoulder, proved he is quite healthy after scoring a goal just 29 seconds into Thursday's season opener. Jagr added a third period assist and also had four shots on goal.

Jaromir Jagr played 21 minutes for the Rangers Friday, his first game since having shoulder surgery five months ago, the AP reports. He didn't figure in the scoring. Jagr said he felt good, struggling only with trying to regain his timing after such a long layoff. "My goal was to survive and get the feeling for the game," he said.

Four months after surgery on his dislocated left shoulder, Jaromir Jagr practiced Friday morning but sat out two scrimmages as camps opened around the NHL, according to the AP. "The coaches and doctors want to make sure I don't get hit," said Jagr. "They don't want me to play the scrimmage. They just want me to get my shoulder stronger. They don't want to take any chances."

Jaromir Jagr underwent surgery on his left shoulder Monday, and he should be recovered for the mid-September opening of training camp, according to the New York Post. He is planning on remaining in New York through the middle of next week before flying home to the Czech Republic. Jagr will return to New York for an evaluation from the Rangers' medical staff in June.

Jaromir Jagr stated Monday the the left shoulder he dislocated a week ago in Game 1 was worse yesterday after getting knocked out of Saturday's Game 4 after one shift than it had been after he played over 17 minutes of Wednesday's Game 3, according to the New York Post. "It hurts a lot more; I can't even lift my arm," said Jagr. "If we have surgery, we'll do it as quickly as possible so I still have five months before the season. I don't want to take the chance of having this happen again and then have surgery during the season, and have to miss three or four months."

Jaromir Jagr suffered what is being called an "upper body injury" in the third period of Saturday's game against the Devils, according to the AP. Jagr appeared to hurt his left arm after stumbling in a failed attempt to hit Scott Gomez. Jagr was escorted to the dressing room with less than five minutes remaining in the third period and is expected to be evaluated by doctors on Sunday.

Jaromir Jagr left the ice with blood pouring out of a cut on his forehead after being rammed into the boards by Finland's Jarkko Ruutu during the Czechs' 4-2 loss in Olympic men's hockey Saturday, according to the AP. After the game, Czech coach Alois Hadamczik said Jagr did not have a concussion and possibly could play Sunday against Italy, though he said, "It will be up to him."
