| September 28, 2007 Flyers rookie winger Steve Downie was suspended 20 games by the NHL for his hit against Ottawa's Dean McAmmond. The hit took place in a preseason game on Friday night, Downie clearly left his feet for the deliberate and dangerous hit, and ESPN.com reports that Downie has been slapped with the fourth-longest suspension in league history. |
