March 21, 2008 Erik Christensen won't skate for the next 7-10 days because of a sprained MCL and will likely miss the rest of the season. "I think with the way our season is coming here, he's probably not going to play the rest of the year," coach Don Waddell said in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I think what's important is he's seen the opportunity here." It's safe to go ahead and cut Christensen loose.
March 20, 2008 Erik Christensen, acquired in the Marian Hossa trade, was examined by team doctors on Wednesday and it was determined he will be held out of on ice activities for at least 10 days. Christensen sprained his MCL against Florida and the prognosis for his return before the season ends isn't good. The center had recorded 24 points in 59 games this season.
February 26, 2008 Erik Christensen is now an Atlanta Thrasher after being involved in a deal that landed Hossa in Pittsburgh. Christensen's specialty is on the shootout, and that's about the only area he'll be of much use to Atlanta.
