April 1, 2008 The Islanders may have fallen short of their hopes in allowing the Devils to secure a spot in the upcoming NHL Playoffs, but goalie Joey MacDonald did what he could to prevent the 2-1 loss. MacDonald stopped 45 of 47 shots on goal in just his second start this season. Who knows what the future holds for MacDonald, but he certainly flashed strong potential in the heartbreaking loss this evening.
March 23, 2008 Joey MacDonald made his first start of the year on Sunday with Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro out for the season due to a hip injury. MacDonald's first start resulted in a 4-1 loss to the Flyers. It was MacDonalds first start since the 2006-07 season when he made 12, and finished with three wins and seven losses.
July 8, 2007 The Islanders signed Joey MacDonald to a two-year deal Sunday. Financial terms were not disclosed. MacDonald spent time with the Red Wings and Bruins last year, compiling a 3.12 GAA and .894 save percentage in 15 games (12 starts). He is expected to play in Bridgeport, the Islanders' AHL affiliate, to begin 2007-08 season, according to SportsTicker.
