Martin Erat's seven-year, $31.5 million deal with the Predators was rejected by the NHL because it didn't conform to the "100 percent rule," the Tennessean reports. The two sides worked out a new contract and have resubmitted the proposed deal. To comply with the complicated rule, the Predators shifted $250,000 of Erat's year seven salary to year six.

Martin Erat scored the first hat trick of his six-year career on Tuesday. He entered the night with 18 goals, so the triple-goal evening gives him a career-high 21 for the season. His scoring is sporadic, and he does little else in fantasy terms, but he's doing enough scoring this year to help in deep leagues.

Martin Erat had a goal and an assist on Sunday night, the second time in four games and the third time in seven games that he has left the ice with a goal and an assist in a game. Erat has put together a fine season for the Predators with 44 points in 55 games and he is on pace for his second straight 55+ point season. Erat isn't a big name, and he has never scored more than 20 goals, but he is just five points away from his fourth straight year of at least 49 points which marks him as a fine complementary player.

Martin Erat sat out a second straight game on Sunday because of back spasms, according to the Nashville Tennessean. Erat is a very underrated player who has notched 16 goals and 40 points in 51 games this season. This injury shouldn't sideline him for long.

Nashville forward Martin Erat left Thursday's loss to Tampa Bay in the second period with an upper-body injury. Erat's injury was reported as a 'twisted back' and is not believed to be serious.

Martin Erat began to be bothered by a back injury late in Thursday's game. The injury has left him listed as questionable for Saturday's contest, according to the Tennessean. He'll probably test his back out before the game to determine whether he'll lace 'em up.
