After scoring 59 goals the past two seasons, Cole has failed to produce this year with 17 markers in 58 games. Still, he has six goals in his last 10 games, so maybe he is heating up just in time to salvage his season.
February 18, 2008 Erik Cole was scratched from the Monday afternoon game against the Devils to the flu. Three of the Hurricanes top scorers were out on Monday afternoon. Cole, Captain Rod Brind'Amour with a knee injury and Ray Whitney with a groin pull.
