April 15, 2008 John Madden has been playing great in the post-season as he notably scored the game-winning OT goal against the Rangers on Sunday, and has earned more ice time and gained praise from Brent Sutter, according to the Newark Star Ledger. Sutter is very high on Madden right now and commented, "You try to play your top players on the power play, your most skilled guys who contribute maybe the most offensively on it. Sometimes you change things just to shake things up a little bit, but John's one of those guys that, since Day One, has played extremely well for this team. He's done everything that I've asked of a player to do. He's had a great year to date and he'll continue to play well, because he plays for the front of that jersey. That jersey means everything to him. He's a fiery guy. He's got the intensity and the intangibles that make up a winner. And his character showed Sunday night."
