Sergei Samsonov signed a 3-year, $7.6 million contract to remain with the Carolina Hurricanes, this according to TSN. Don't look now but Sergei Samsonov, left for dead earlier this year by the Blackhawks, scored his seventh goal in 20 games with the Hurricanes on Thursday night. Those certainly aren't spectacular numbers for the former 70-point scorer, but seven goals and 14 points in 20 games with the 'Canes is a heck of lot better than his putrid performance in Chicago (four assists in 23 games) marking Sergei as a possible waiver-wire find if you are in need of offense from the wing. | January 19, 2008
