Odell Thurman is facing an indefinite suspension after he once again violated the league's substance abuse policy, SI.com reports. The Bengals released Thurman last week. Thurman was not available to comment, and his agent, Safarrah Lawson, says, "We have not been notified of that at this point. I have no knowledge." He has not played since his rookie year in 2005 due to suspensions based on alcohol and drug abuse.

Following up on an earlier report, Odell Thurman has been released by the Cincinnati Bengals, one month after he was reinstated by the NFL from a two-year suspension, this according to Fox Sports. The Bengals said Monday that Thurman wasn't meeting expectations. The Bengals are holding voluntary workouts in preparation for the team's mandatory minicamp next month.

ProFootballTalk.com reports that league sources are reporting that the Bengals plan to release linebacker Odell Thurman on Monday. The report notes that the move isn’t the result of any relapse of substance abuse or renewed misconduct by the talented-but-troubled defender, who missed most of the past two NFL seasons due to a suspension. Instead, the Bengals allegedly are cutting Thurman for missing voluntary workouts last week.
