September 7, 2008 According to the Mercury News, Alex Smith told the paper he wouldn't know the extent of his latest shoulder injury until Monday. When inactives were announced today, Smith was on the list due to injuring his shoulder in Friday's practice. The quarterback did not rule out the possibility that his season was already over. Asked if his season might be over, Smith responded: "We should find out tomorrow."
