Obviously we moved Cedric Benson ahead of him. We continue to have things in the offense for Chris to carry the football and do things. After being down 21-6 last week, we kind of got off kilter a little bit, so we don't get as many of those things off. He will continue to be in there on all downs, he just has to keep playing and do better at everything he's doing."

Chris Perry is on a short leash and the Dayton Daily News is speculating that the Bengals may analyze other options regarding their starter. Coach Marvin Lewis said, "We're going to look at all that. Lewis said, "I do see Chris being very confident, and I think Chris feels like he's the starting running back and he feels good about that. Right now that's how we'd probably start the regular season. He feels good about it and he's exhibiting that on the practice field as well, not only in the games he's played but in the way he's practiced."

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that tailback Chris Perry made a fine showing Monday morning and again during the night practice. He is attempting to return from ankle and shin injuries that kept him out all of last season. "I've graduated from hungry and made it to greedy," he said of his desire to get back on the field. Another hurdle will come Tuesday when the players will wear full pads and have live contact.

The Cincinnati Bengals are optimistic that injury-prone tailback Chris Perry might be ready for on-field work later this spring, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Head coach Marvin Lewis also said Perry remains under the supervision of the Bengals’ medical staff at this time. There are mixed signals coming out of Cincinnati regarding Perry. Last month it was reported that he would definitely participate in the offseason program. At this point, we will have to see him on the field, before we believe any news report.

Chris Perry will participate in the Cincinnati Bengals offseason program according to Bengals.com. In a phone interview Tuesday, Perry said this is the best he's felt, literally, in years and is confident that he can follow through on the plan that puts him on the field for spring practices in early May. "I've just been focusing on getting healthy," Perry said. "It's really the only thing I've been thinking about." Except for a few practices, the last time Perry was on the field was 478 days ago. His litany of NFL injuries are almost beyond belief, starting with the sports hernia that wiped out all but two games of his rookie year and the ankle that has eliminated the last 21 games of his third and fourth seasons.
