The sentiment among Rototimes sources is that the starting quarterback job in Baltimore is Kyle Boller's to lose, but second-year signal caller Troy Smith has been impressive and has shown improvement in all areas of his game during minicamp.
May 6, 2008
Coach John Harbaugh says there will be open competition for the quarterback position in Baltimore, but veteran Kyle Boller will likely be the starter, according to the Sporting News. Boller has more experience than either second-year backup Troy Smith or rookie Joe Flacco, the Ravens' first-round draft pick.
April 27, 2008
The Baltimore Ravens, entering their first season without Brian Billick at the helm, have wasted no time in bolster the offense and adding competitive options to the offensive skill positions on the roster. The Ravens started by trading up in the 1st round of the NFL Draft, swapping with the Houston Texans to move in to the 18th-overall pick of the draft and using that pick to select Delaware QB Joe Flacco. With their 2nd-round pick, the Ravens continued to target offense by adding Rutgers RB Ray Rice.
April 26, 2008
The Baltimore Ravens traded the No. 8 overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft to the Jacksonville Jaguars for the 26th overall pick, two third round sections (71st and 89th overall) and fourth round pick (123rd overall).
April 19, 2008
The Ravens will use the no-huddle as part of their offense this year even with the retirement of Steve McNair, this according to the Baltimore Sun. Kyle Boller and Troy Smith will continue to work with the new offensive scheme.
