Charlie Batch will get the start once again this week in place of the injured Ben Roethlisberger, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "He managed the game well," coach Bill Cowher said. "We didn't throw the ball for a whole lot of yardage, but I like to think he will get better, too. That was his first live action in a game, in a hostile environment. I think he will get some confidence after [Sunday]. But we have to be more efficient throwing it."

Charlie Batch will start at quarterback for the Steelers this week in place of Ben Roethlisberger. Batch moved ahead of Tommy Maddox on the depth chart after Maddox turned the ball over five times in his start earlier this year.

Charlie Batch will start on Sunday against Jacksonville if Ben Roethlisberger is unable to go, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "You don't know when your number is going to be called," Batch said. "And when it is, you got to be ready." Batch came into the game on Monday after Roethlisberger went down with the injury, but he did not make any pass attempts.

The Steelers released Charlie Batch on Saturday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The club needed an extra roster spot for today's game and may re-sign him as soon as tomorrow.
