The Steelers placed Charlie Batch on injured reserve after he had season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his knee on Friday morning, according to the Sports Network. Kurt Kittner has been signed to replace Batch. | August 13, 2004
Charlie Batch will miss the next two to three weeks after an MRI revealed a loose body in his surgically-repaired knee, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Steelers coach Bill Cowher did not indicate that further surgery will be necessary, but he said Batch and Steelers orthopedic physician Dr. James Bradley might seek an additional opinion. | August 12, 2004
