Fly me to the Moon! Raptors exercise option on rookie Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - The Toronto Raptors exercised the team
option on forward Jamario Moon for the 2008-09 season. Per club policy, terms
of the pact were not disclosed.
The six-foot-eight, 205-pounder was signed as a free agent by the Raptors on
July 10, 2007 following successful stints in the NBA Development League and
the Continental Basketball Association.
Moon appeared in 78 games for Toronto this past season, averaging 8.5 points,
6.2 rebounds, which ranked second on the team, and a team-best 1.38 blocks. He

Jose Calderon, a free agent, has news for the Raptors - he wants to be a starter, according to TSN. "I want to be a starter. I will not be on a team in which I cannot be an important contributor."
The Raptors front office and coaching staff is hoping Andrea Bargnani can turn into more of a complete player this offseason. The 22-year-old big man and former first overall pick has been one-dimensionl (jump shot) during his first two years. "If he doesn't work, it's not going to happen," Chris Bosh tells the Toronto Sun. "Some nights, if he doesn't shoot the ball well, he's not a factor. He has to develop the mentality to get down low. Because he's seven-feet. Get down low, get some easy baskets, block some shots, get some rebounds -- be a force in the game even if you're not making shots."
