Player Notes
December 23, 2007
Corey Maggette sat out Saturday with a sore right knee, the AP reports. "I thought he was totally fine (Friday night) and today," head coach Mike Dunleavy said. "I set him in the starting lineup in the meeting and then the trainer this afternoon said he couldn't play." Consider Maggette day-to-day for the moment.
November 26, 2007
Corey Maggette has missed the past four games due to a strained hamstring. However, he probably will suit up to play on Monday, according to the LA Times. It originally appeared that the injury could sideline him into next month, but apparently he's way ahead of schedule in his recovery. Maggette's frail, so it probably will only be a matter of time before he misses some more action, even if he plays Monday.
November 20, 2007
Clippers swingman Corey Maggette is expected to miss two to three weeks while recovering from a strained right hamstring, the LA Times reported.
November 18, 2007
Corey Maggette strained his right hamstring earlier this week, and the injury kept him from taking part in Saturday's contest. "He plays hard and takes a lot of hits," coach Mike Dunleavy told the LA Times. "For somebody to play 82 games, it's going to take a lot." On the other hand, for somebody like the usually-injured Maggette to get in 70+ games in a season is a good sign. Dunleavy said he expects Maggette to miss a couple of more games, so keep him on your bench for now ... and get used to him being dinged up.
April 3, 2007
Corey Maggette did not practice on Monday due to a chest bruise, according to the Orange County Register. The injury caused him to miss Saturday's game against Portland, but he's expected to play on Wednesday.
March 31, 2007
Corey Maggette sat out against Portland on Saturday due to a chest contusion, according to the AP. He suffered the injury on Friday night against the Kings. It's uncertain how much action he'll be forced to miss.
March 31, 2007
Corey Maggette sustained a chest injury during Friday night's game, according to the LA Times. It's possible he could sit out Saturday's game as a result.
February 9, 2007
Corey Maggette still isn't happy with his role, the Los Angeles Times reports. Maggette played only 17 minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Knicks and he blasted head coach Mike Dunleavy afterwards; Maggette then missed Wednesday's game with the flu (with the team insisting there was no cover-up going on). Maggette wasn't at practice Thursday and might not play tonight at Philadelphia, as he apparently isn't over the bug yet.
February 8, 2007
Corey Maggette missed Wednesday's game due to the flu, according to the LA Times. It'll be interesting to see if Maggette ends up being traded before the deadline, though owner Donald Sterling said he wants Maggette to stay.
January 26, 2007
Clippers owner Donald Sterling has made it clear he wants Corey Maggette to stay with the club, the Los Angeles Times reports. Maggette has been mentioned in trade talks for much of January.
January 19, 2007
The Clippers are still dangling Corey Maggette in trade talks but nothing is imminent, the Los Angeles Times reports. Maggette averaged at least 20 points in the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons and has a cap-friendly salary of $7 million a season through the 2008-09 season, so the Clippers would want to receive much for him.
January 9, 2007
Corey Maggette missed Monday's game with a sore foot, as expected. He's considered questionable for Wednesday's game with Minnesota.
January 6, 2007
Corey Maggette missed Saturday's game with a sore left foot, the AP reports. He's considered questionable for Monday's game with the Hornets.
