Paul Pierce has a left foot injury that will keep him out for the next 2-to-3 weeks, according to the AP. Pierce has a stress reaction, and a team spokesman said that Pierce will not play on the five-game road trip that begins next Tuesday.

Paul Pierce practiced with a pad on his bruised right elbow yesterday, and it looks like he should be fine for tonight's game, according to the Boston Globe. "It's getting better," said Pierce. "There's just bruising and it's still a little sore. I wore a pad on it [yesterday] and it felt good . . . A lot of the swelling is down. I think it's more of a bruise. I'll probably wear the pad [tonight], just in case I fall."

"It is sore and it has swelled up and is similar to the injury I had last year, so we will just have to wait and see," said Pierce. "I just fell right on it and it is a little sore right now. I'll give it a couple days' rest and see how it feels. I will have the doctor look at it." Pierce battled a bruised left elbow last season and needed offseason surgery to repair the damage.

Paul Pierce will miss the final two preseason games because of an infected middle finger on his left hand, according to the AP. He returned to Boston on Tuesday and was treated with antibiotics at a Massachusetts hospital. Pierce was to return to the hospital for further treatment on Wednesday.

The injury kept him from playing the final three games of the regular season.
