June 13, 2008 Zydrunas Ilgauskas will not be allowed to play for Team Lithuania in the upcoming Olympics, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He wants very much to compete in Beijing, but the Cavaliers believe it would be too risky to grant him permission. GM Danny Ferry said, "Zydrunas is an important member of our team and has generally been a higher-risk player due to his injury history. We declined consent for Zydrunas to play in the Olympics when he approached us several weeks ago."
May 16, 2008 Zydrunas Ilgauskas only scored seven points in Friday's 74-69 win over the Celtics in Game 6, but he carried his weight and contributed to the victory with 10 rebounds. He also blocked three shots.
May 8, 2008 Zydrunas Ilgauskas was probably the best player on the Cavs in their Game 2 loss to the Celtics as he scored 19 points and pulled in five boards. Impressively, he was 9-for-12 from the field.
