The Magic are now sure that Tony Battie will miss the entire season, the AP reports. The forward underwent surgery for a partially torn rotator cuff Wednesday.

Tony Battie could miss the entire upcoming season due to shoulder surgery. "It will be a significant amount of time -- I have been told that much," Battie said, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Battie has a partially torn rotator cuff and will seek a third opinion before deciding on surgery. Aside from brief stretches of success, Battie wasn't going to be much of a fantasy option, but the Magic will miss his presence in the paint if he's out of the mix.

Tony Battie is expected to have his broken right hand examined today, according to the Orlando Sentinel. "The swelling is down considerably, but it's still painful," he said. It's possible he could return soon, but he'll be coming off the pine behind Darko Milicic the remainder of the season.

Tony Battie saw his streak of 195 straight games played come to an end last night. He was diagnosed with a bone chip in his right hand and is out indefinitely, according to the Orlando Sentinel. "It's tough, but we got to play the games," coach Brian Hill said. "We don't know the extent of it until we get back and Tony has a chance to be checked out by our people and get an MRI."
