Updating earlier reports, the Knicks have banished Stephon Marbury indefinitely, according to the Daily News. Knicks president Donnie Walsh announced late Monday that he ordered Marbury "not to participate in practice or attend games until further notice."

Stephon Marbury and the Knicks have not reached an agreement during Monday's meeting, according to the NY Daily News. Marbury's lawyer (Hal Biagas) said, "It’s not resolved. We’re keeping it in-house. I have no comment. I’ll keep you posted if things happen."

Stephon Marbury lashed out at teammates and coach Mike D'Antoni a day before he was to meet with team president Donnie Walsh about a possible buyout, as reported by the NY Post. Marbury said, "I sat there for three weeks and didn't say one word. I didn't hear one of my teammates say, 'Why isn't Stephon Marbury playing? This is a good system for him, even to play with the second unit and bring more firepower. Mike D'Antoni had no intentions of me playing basketball here. He gave me straight disrespect. It was beyond disrespect."

Updating an earlier report, the AP now informs us that Stephon Marbury has been suspended for one game by the Knicks, which is claiming he refused to play Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons. The amount Marbury will be docked is a reported $400,000. The report goes on to state that Marbury will be docked one game’s pay and has been told to stay away from the team through the weekend. Marbury is disputing the Knicks’ allegation that he refused to play. “If you say I gotta play, I’m going to play,” Marbury told the newspaper during a well-timed interview Thursday. “If he said I have to play, guess what, I’m going to get on the court and play, period."

The AP reports that Stephon Marbury said he does not trust coach Mike D’Antoni and has begged Knicks’ management for his release. New York’s roster has been trimmed by trades and injuries over the last week, but despite the depleted lineup, Marbury has refused to play. According to the report, Marbury plans on meeting with Walsh Friday. He also believes D’Antoni told the team about his removal from the active roster at the beginning of the campaign without telling Marbury. Marbury also said he never refused to play, knowing that such a move could be grounds for suspension, thus docking his pay.

The Knicks appear to be in the market for a new point guard, either in the draft or via a trade, Newsday reports. The club holds the No. 6 pick in the draft. Italian forward Danilo Gallinari is on their radar, but the Knicks may also look at point guards Russell Westbrook and D.J. Augustin. Trade possibilities include T.J. Ford (Raptors) or Kyle Lowry (Grizzlies). The Newsday report suggests the Knicks may not keep Stephon Marbury around.

Having a guy who's an upbeat coach, an upbeat style, [it'll] make us play different," Marbury tells the ESPN.com. "I changed my whole workout regimen to get ready for him. I've been doing what Karl Malone did, running up the mountains.
