Magic guard J.J. Redick suffered back spasms on Monday and did not play on Tuesday against the Timberwolves as a result. General manager Otis Smith told the Orlando Sentinel that Redick will also sit out Wednesday’s game against the Raptors, but hopes he can return for Saturday’s home game against Phoenix. He is not traveling with the team.

J.J. Redick is expected to return to practice on Monday, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Redick is dealing with a bruised right hand that sidelined him all of last week. It's not clear if he will be ready for the season opener at this point. He's competing for minutes and the starting job at shooting guard and could provide some threes for teams in deeper leagues this season.

J.J. Redick (bruised hand) didn't play Thursday, the AP reports. It's likely he won't be 100 percent when the season opens next week.

J.J. Redick fractured a bone in his right hand recently. It's not clear when or how he suffered the injury, but he's been wearing a soft cast for about a week, according to the Orlando Sentinel. He's expected to be ready for training camp, when he will compete for the starting shooting guard role.

J.J. Redick is expected to see action in Game 4 today, as the Magic try to avoid being swept by the Pistons, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Redick had an embarrassingly bad rookie campaign, as he played in just 48 contests and averaged six points and 14.8 minutes per game.
