Celtics guard Tony Allen suffered a bruised right thigh against Charlotte on Saturday and won’t play on Tuesday, the Boston Herald reported. He will be day-to-day after that. With Ray Allen also playing through a twisted ankle, Boston recalled rookie Gabe Pruitt from the NBA D-League.

Celtics guard Tony Allen didn’t play on Wednesday against the Knicks due to a scratched right cornea suffered in practice on Monday, the Boston Herald reported. Allen is listed as day to day.

Tony Allen, recovering from left knee surgery, was recently cleared to play and hopes to be ready for the season opener, according to the Boston Globe. And when he does return, he's confident about the impact he'll have on the team. "If you put the ball in my hands when I'm healthy, hey, it won't be The Big Three, it might be The Big Four," said Allen. "Right know I'm hungry. That's the mentality I got." After missing the final 48 games last season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, the Celtics are cautiously optimistic that Tony Allen will be ready once training camp begins. Executive director of basketball operations Danny Ainge told the Boston Globe that Allen has "been cleared to play and do everything on the court."

Tony Allen is able to work on his shooting, but can’t run or jump competitively yet after surgery to repair an ACL tear in January. But coach Doc Rivers told the Boston Globe that Allen has been doing a lot of biking and is on schedule, if not ahead of schedule, to return in time for training camp.

Charges of aggravated battery against Tony Allen were dismissed Tuesday in a Chicago court, the AP reports. Allen, who has spent the last three seasons with the Celtics, is recovering from two torn ligaments in his left knee sustained when he landed awkwardly after an uncontested dunk in the final minutes of a game on Jan. 10.

Tony Allen has a torn MCL and ACL and is done for the season, the Boston Herald reports. He'll have surgery on his left knee soon, perhaps this weekend, and will be out at least six months.

Tony Allen tanked a dunk attempt last night and landed awkwardly on the hardwood as a result, injuring his left knee. The Celtics believe he tore the ACL in the joint, an injury that would sideline him for the remainder of the season if confirmed, according to the Boston Globe.
