With the Nets pushing to challenge the Atlanta Hawks for the final spot in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, Vince Carter and Devin Harris hooked it up and pushed New Jersey to a 124-117 win over the Indiana Pacers, both posting double-double efforts in leading the drive. Both players scored 22 points with Carter adding 14 rebounds while Harris led the point with 15 assists. Both players have come on down the stretch with hopes of getting their team into the playoff picture, and it now appears they are ready to serve as the team's dynamic duo moving forward.

The Nets were wondering if Devin Harris would be available due to a right ankle sprain. Not only did he play in the Nets' 125-117 win over Atlanta, but he excelled, scoring 26 points with nine assists. Harris is a strong talent with the ability to provide various attributes to the cause, and as the Nets are learning, he is reliable even when hampered by injury.

He also added five assists and accomplished it all in just 21 minutes on the court for the Nets. What a debut. Don't set the bar too high Devin cause as great as you were tonight, you are no Jason Kidd, at least not yet.

Devin Harris practiced Wednesday for the first time since joining the Nets and could play tomorrow night. "I felt good, went through the whole practice, full contact and everything. It was a good day," Harris said in the Newark Star-Ledger. The Nets will decide after tomorrow's shootaround if Harris will play. Coach Lawrence Frank said Harris will start when he's healthy enough to play, so be ready to insert him into your lineup.

Devin Harris might be able to practice as soon as Wednesday, according to the New York Post. "Optimistically," coach Lawrence Frank said, "there's a chance he could go through his first practice tomorrow and then we'll just kind of go from there. The whole thing is kind of how he feels, his conditioning." Practicing on his sprained ankle would be a good sign, but he's been out long enough that his conditioning will be an issue. Consider him week-to-week and hope he can hit the hardwood for practice on Wednesday.

In Saturday night's win over the Pacers, Williams recorded a career-high 13 assists to go along with eight points and seven rebounds in the 102-91 victory over Indiana.

Devin Harris, expected to take over the reigns of the Nets with Jason Kidd now in Dallas, was unable to play on Friday night due to an injured left ankle. As we reported earlier, Harris looks to be out of action for another week or two, so don't count on any production from him in the short-term as he will be wearing a tie and not sneakers.

Devin Harris may not make his debut with the Nets for a couple of more weeks, according to the AP. "It looks like it's going to be another week or two before I can get on the court," Harris said. He's already missed the past three weeks due to the high-ankle sprain. Harris should see a general boost in production in New Jersey, as he'll have more freedom on offense. But first, he'll need to actually get on the court. In the meantime, Marcus Williams will run the point and could have some short-term value.

Losing Steve Nash in 2004; then trading for Devin Harris and Jerry Stackhouse in a package for All-Star Antawn Jamison doesn't look so good in hindsight according to the Star-Telegram. The recent agreement in principal for Jason Kidd essentially means the team has given up on Harris -- and for a point guard that is 35, a year older than Nash. The Star described the newest trade between the Nets and Mavs on Monday morning. "This isn't back to square one; it's back to minus-1."

Devin Harris is part of a package that the Nets will acquire in the reported Jason Kidd deal. Harris is currently dealing with an ankle injury but is due back after the All-Star break. He's averaging 14.4 points, 5.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

Devin Harris left Sunday's game with a sprained left ankle. X-rays came back negative, but more will be known about his condition after an MRI on Monday, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. It looked like a pretty bad sprain, and he was on crutches with his foot encased in a boot after the contest. He's definitely out for Monday's game and likely will miss more action. Look for Jason Terry to get a boost in production while Harris is sidelined.

He was helped off the floor by the Mavericks' training staff to the locker room for further examination after landing awkwardly on his foot before falling just beyond the baseline, according to SportsTicker. The Mavs said Harris will miss Monday's game, but it's not clear how much more time he'll miss.
