Knicks center Eddy Curry missed the first practice of the year because he acquired a bacterial infection, according to the New York Daily News. He arrived at camp heavy, which prompted N.Y. coach Mike D'Antoni to remark, "I heard he was throwing up and everything, so, it's a great way to lose weight."

Following a report from earlier in the week, New York Knicks center Eddy Curry will have arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, ending his disappointing season, according to the Associated Press. Curry will have a piece of torn cartilage removed next week, the Knicks said Friday. Recovery time is expected to be four to six weeks. Curry has been one of few bright spots for the Knicks this season and now the hope of a full recovery takes over and spills into next season.

Eddy Curry has a vertical carilage tear in his right knee and may need season ending surgery, according to the NY Post. He will undergo aggressive treatment over the next few days to try to postpone the surgery until the end of the season. Curry may attempt to play again if the pain and swelling can go away.

Eddy Curry skipped Saturday's game due to a swollen right knee, according to the New York Daily News. "I'm not too worried," Curry said. "... We'll see what happens (today)." Since Zach Randolph has been out, too, Curry actually had scored in double figures the previous three games.

Eddy Curry was benched in Tuesday's overtime win against the Wizards after he and teammate Nate Robinson argued on the bench. Randolph threw a cup of water at Robinson during the verbal disagreement and Robinson responded by tossing back a towel before they were separated, notes the New York Post. Randolph called it “heat of the moment.’’ “It was a misunderstanding,’’ Randolph said. “Nate and I talked about it.’’ The Post blog noted that Randolph appears on edge with the trading deadline tomorrow.

According to the NY Daily News the Knicks have seen the Zach Randolph- Eddy Curry experiment flop and with the trading deadline only nine days away, the team is shopping their two big men. It's not known exactly what Isiah Thomas is looking for in return - a Pau Gasol-type fire sale is not being conducted - but he's definitely trying to move both.
