Marlins ink Helms to two-year deal Miami, FL (Sports Network) - The Florida Marlins re-signed infielder Wes
Helms to a two-year contract through the 2010 season, the team announced
Friday.
"After doing a great job for us in 2006, we welcomed Wes back to the Marlins
this year, and he again strenghtened our bench and was a positive influence in
the clubhouse," said Marlins' president of baseball operations, Larry
Beinfest. "We look forward to Wes being part of highly productive Marlins
clubs in 2009 and 2010."
Helms, 32, was re-acquired by the Marlins from Philadelphia on April 5. In 132

MLB.com reports that the Marlins and third baseman Wes Helms agreed to terms on a two-year, $1.9 million contract. He joins Hanley Ramirez as the only two Marlins under multi-year deals.
