Mets manager Willie Randolph admitted that he might use Darren Oliver over Steve Trachsel in a potential Game 7, even if the bruised thigh that forced Trachsel out of Saturday's game is healed, according to the New York Daily News. Trachsel said his thigh is "better," though he has yet to run on it.

Steve Trachsel was hit on his right leg by a line drive during Saturday's NLCS game and was forced to leave the contest, according to the AP. Trachsel, who was replaced by Darren Oliver, was diagnosed with a bruised thigh.

Steve Trachsel left the Mets on Saturday to fly home to California because of family issues and was scratched from his scheduled start on Sunday, according to the AP. The Mets did not immediately announce who will start in his place and they aren't sure when Trachsel will return to the team. "We'll probably have a workout on Tuesday, so hopefully he'll be back by then. But it's not certain," Mets spokesman Jay Horwitz said.

The Mets will push Steve Trachsel back a couple of days in the rotation in order to keep Tom Glavine on his regular rest schedule. The club announced that Pedro Martinez, Orlando Hernandez and Glavine would be this weekend's starters.

Steve Trachsel will make his second start of the season Saturday against the Brewers on seven days rest, according to the AP. He was originally slated to start on his normal five days rest, but Saturday's rainout allowed the Mets to provide Trachsel with an extra couple of days of rest.
