Chris Young is off to a favorable start as he generated four homers, six RBI, and two stolen bases, but he co-leads the MLB with 12 strikeouts (with Bill Hall), and his average sits at .212 over 33 at-bats. Young remains one of the hottest young sluggers in baseball, and his average should climb up soon enough.

Chris Young was 1-for-2 on Wednesday while he scored twice, walked three times and stole a base. About the only part of Young's offensive game that is a real negative is his ability to control the strike zone, so if he can coax a few more walks, while cutting down on his strikeouts, he would certainly have a great shot at going 30/30 this season.

Chris Young, who set an Arizona club rookie record with 32 homers last season, hit a solo shot into the upper deck of left field in the third inning as the Diamondbacks beat Cincinnati 4-2 on Monday. Young was highly touted by fantasy outlets this winter and drafted as such in most formats.

Chris Young had three hits on Thursday in a 8-7 loss to the Rangers. One of Young's hits was a towering solo home run to lead off the ninth. The Arizona outfielder is being drafted this summer like he was a five time veteran All Star. Young's upside is over-the-top, but his small sample and lack of plate discipline is concerning.
March 20, 2008
Chris Young enjoyed a breakout season in 2007, but he wants to be even better in 2008, according to MLB.com. Young commented, "This year, I've got to stay off that nasty stuff they throw me on the outside that I've been swinging at. I'm sure anyone would like to have a better on-base percentage. Getting on base is important, because I know the more I get on base, the more I can steal, the more I can make an impact on a game, and that's what I plan on doing. I've got to work on getting better jumps on the bases. Baserunning is something I want to make a huge improvement on. want to be more consistent out there," he said. I'd also like to be more aggressive defensively." Sounds like Young is primed for a strong follow-up to 2007.
