The outfielder has battled numerous off-the-field problems and has had issues with managers, but he's hoping to turn over a new leaf. "I've been working on myself a long time, and I finally found a breakthrough," Dukes said in the AP. "And from now on, everybody gets a chance to really see (what) the real Elijah Dukes is like. I've always been working on it, it's just been issues of mine and I think now I finally tuned it up a bit so I can stay on the field the whole year." He'll come off the bench for the Nats to start the year, but he could get regular playing time if he plays up to his ability. |
