The Mariners called up Adam Jones on Friday, according to the AP. Jones, who hit .208 in 72 AB during an earlier stint in Seattle, batted .287 with 16 HR, 62 RBI, and 13 SB for Tacoma.

Adam Jones, who is hitting just .204 on the year, has been losing playing time to Willie Bloomquist in center field, according to the Seattle Times. Jones is "gonna be a very, very good player at some point in time," manager Mike Hargrove said. "Right now we're trying to develop him to that point." As long as Jones continues to struggle, Bloomquist should continue to steal away playing time.

Adam Jones has been handed the starting role in center field for the Mariners, and not just against righties, according to the official team website. Originally it was assumed that Jones would platoon with Willie Bloomquist, but that no longer appears to be the case.

As expected, the Mariners recalled Adam Jones from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday, according to the AP. Jones, who is hitting .277 with 14 HR, 55 RBI, and 13 SB with Tacoma, replaces Shin-Soo Choo on the roster. Jones is expected to split time in center field with Willie Bloomquist, although he could see increasingly more playing time if he performs well.

The Mariners will recall Adam Jones from Triple-A Tacoma Friday to help fill their need in center field, according to the AP. Jones, who turns 21 on August 1, was Seattle's first-round selection in the 2003 draft. He was batting .277 with 14 home runs and 55 RBI for Tacoma. He will replace Shin-Soo Choo on the roster.
