After Tuesday's rainout, Ian Snell will still make his first career start for the Pirates in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Wednesday, according to the AP.

Pirates manager Lloyd McClendon told the AP on Saturday that Ian Snell will get his first career start Tuesday in Philadelphia. Snell spent most of the season with Double-A Altoona where he went 11-7 with a 3.16 ERA and three complete games in 26 starts. In two relief appearances with the Pirates, Snell has allowed two runs in seven innings.

Ian Snell was sent back to Double-A Altoona after he allowed a run in two innings of work in his major league debut on Friday. Snell was demoted to create roster space for Nelson Figueroa.

The Pirates have recalled Ian Snell from Double-A Altoona to replace John Van Benschoten on the roster. Snell was 11-7 with a 3.29 ERA in 25 starts before the promotion. He pitched just two innings on Tuesday, so he's a candidate to start the second game of tomorrow's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
