Shawn Hill is scheduled to pitch for Double-A Harrisburg on Friday, according to the AP. Hill has been out since the end of June with stiffness in his left elbow.

Shawn Hill, on the DL with a stiff elbow, will visit Dr. James Andrews today, according to the Washington Post. GM Jim Bowden doesn't expect Hill to pitch again this season, though that doesn't necessarily mean Hill will need surgery.

Shawn Hill, who is on the DL with a stiff left elbow, had a bullpen session on Friday and reported that though he felt better, his elbow was still stiff, according to the Nationals website. He hopes to have another bullpen session on Tuesday that will last about eight to 10 minutes. He plans to throw all of his pitches.

Shawn Hill said his right elbow, on which he had Tommy John surgery in 2004, still felt stiff yesterday following Wednesday's start, according to the Washington Post. The team doesn't think it's serious, as Hill will take anti-inflammatories and might skip his scheduled bullpen session today, but plans to be available for his next start.

Because the Nationals have the day off on Thursday, Shawn Hill will skip his next start, according to the official team website. Hill, who gave up one run in seven innings against the Dodgers on Saturday, is expected to take the mound again on June 6 against Atlanta. Ramon Ortiz will start for Washington on Friday.

The Nationals recalled Shawn Hill from Triple-A New Orleans to start against the Dodgers on Saturday. Hill pitched seven strong innings, allowing just five hits and one earned run, with three strikeouts and two walks. Hill posted a 2.64 ERA in eight starts with Double-A Harrisburg before making one start with New Orleans. The Nats have an off day next week, so Hill might not get another start until June 6.
