The main topic of discussion, however, was the big left-hander's right knee. When asked about the condition of the injury Ortiz said, "I feel good. Getting almost 100 percent." During Tuesday's batting practice Big Papi hammered the ball to the opposite field -- center -- and pulled several gargantuan home runs over the right field fence. If his bat could talk it would have said Ortiz is ready to play. |
| February 19, 2008 David Ortiz took some swings in the batting cage Tuesday and proclaimed himself nearly fully recovered from knee surgery, according to the AP. The DH had the procedure shortly after the World Series. Big Papi was a beast down the stretch and in the playoffs despite dealing with the knee condition, but it's nice to know he's feeling much better now, anyway. |
