Orlando Cabrera said he's still bothered by the split nail on his right index finger, the result of being hit by a ball while trying to bunt on Aug. 24, according to the LA Times. However, it doesn't affect his throwing, so he'll keep on playing. "I just hate the fact that it's hurt and it doesn't go away," said Cabrera. "But there's nothing I can do about it right now."

Orlando Cabrera has been bothered by a thumb injury for more than a month, according to the LA Times. He tried wearing a pad on the digit, which remains sore and swollen, "but it didn't feel right, so I took it off during the at-bat." His batting average has dropped from .306 to .281 since moving from second to third in the batting order, though that move coincided with his thumb injury. He was given yesterday off to rest up. "That's when my average started going down," Cabrera said. "But it would take two weeks without playing to get it right."

Angels manager Mike Scioscia gave Orlando Cabrera a day off on Tuesday, according to the AP. Cabrera had played in 115 of the Angels' first 119 games.
