After bending over in obvious pain he attempted one more throw over to first. After coming up well short of first with the toss, Cora returned to the clubhouse to get his arm checked. There was no word yet whether Cora was starting for the injured Mike Lowell tonight, but as of now it doesn't look like the veteran will be available. |
| February 22, 2008 Because the Puerto Rican Professional Baseball League was canceled, Alex Cora spent the offseason training with Alex Cintron in the Miami area instead of playing ball, according to the Boston Herald. "For the first time since 1996," said Cora, "I didnt play the whole year around. It was a lot different, but I think its good." Cora added that this offseason he cleared up a matter related to a bench warrant served in 2000 for a 1999 drunken driving incident. "Its something that happened a long time ago," he said. "A lot of stuff got misunderstood." |
