Roy Halladay isn't expected to pitch again this season after straining his right forearm in Wednesday's outing, according to the Toronto Sun. "He'll get tested further," manager John Gibbons said. "I would doubt that he'd pitch any more. It seems to me there'd be no need to but I'm not ready to say that tonight." Halladay finishes the year with 16 wins, a 3.19 ERA and a 5.40 K/9 rate - his lowest mark since 1999. Josh Towers will replace him in the rotation.

Roy Halladay left Wednesday night's game in the fourth inning with a strained forearm, according to the AP. Roy Halladay may miss his scheduled start Friday because of a line drive that hit him on his pitching elbow in his last start, but if he misses Friday's start he would just be pushed back to Saturday or Sunday, according to the AP. "He felt OK today throwing on the side," manager John Gibbons said. "As of right now, he's a go for Friday but that could change. We'll see how he feels tomorrow." Gustavo Chacin would probably get the start if Halladay can't pitch Friday.

Roy Halladay played catch with no problems on Tuesday and will throw on the side on Wednesday, according to the AP. Halladay was knocked out of Sunday's start against the Angels after Garret Anderson's line drive hit him on his pitching elbow. If Wednesday's throwing session goes well, Halladay should make his scheduled start Friday against Tampa Bay.

Roy Halladay, who left Sunday's start after taking a line drive off his pitching elbow, plans to make his next start on Friday, according to the Toronto Sun. "The plan is to play some catch (today) and then hopefully throw a light side (tomorrow)," he said. "We'll see how it is after that. I'm happy. It feels pretty good right now. There's not a lot of stiffness so I'm optimistic."
September 10, 2006
Roy Halladay left Sunday's game in the first inning when he took a line drive off his pitching elbow. If there's any question at all about Halladay's health, he'll probably be shut down for the rest of the season.

Roy Halladay will be given an extra day of rest before his next start, according to the AP. Halladay will pitch against Boston on Monday instead of Chicago on Sunday. Blue Jays manager John Gibbons is toying with the idea of giving Roy Halladay an extra day of rest, according to the Toronto Sun. Halladay, who starts tonight, is slated to make his next start on Sunday, but he'll go on Monday if Gibbons decides to make the switch. If Halladay doesn't go on Monday, Ty Taubenheim will get the nod.

March 16, 2006
The Blue Jays signed Roy Halladay to a three-year contract extension worth $40 million on Thursday, according to the AP. The deal will keep Halladay with Toronto through the 2010 season. "Roy Halladay is the premier pitcher in the American League," Toronto president and CEO Paul Godfrey said. "To know he will be part of this organization for the next five seasons is a big, big plus. So if there is a poster boy as far as major league baseball is concerned, that's Roy Halladay and that's why we are thrilled to have him."

Roy Halladay has stated that the broken left leg he suffered in July is completely recovered, according to the Toronto Sun. "I think it was case of just not doing anything," Halladay said of his recovery. "It just kind of went away. I don't know if it was because I was not focusing on it or what, but after a being home a month I started doing things and I never really thought about it after that."
