Vladimir Guerrero was not in the starting lineup Saturday. Manager Mike Scioscia said he planned on giving Guerrero one of the final two games off before the playoffs start Tuesday.

Vladimir Guerrero, who jammed his left shoulder diving for a ball Thursday night, was back in the lineup Friday as the DH, according to the AP. "This is something you always want to monitor the next day," manager Mike Scioscia said. "We don't need him reaching up to make running catches right now."

The Angels activated Vladimir Guerrero from the 15-day disabled list Friday, according to the AP. Guerrero has been out since May 21 with a partially dislocated shoulder. He will replace Kelvim Escobar on the roster, who was just placed on the disabled list with a bone spur in his right elbow.

Guerrero took on-field batting practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering his shoulder injury. "I was really watching his swing for flaws, but when he's hitting the ball 75 rows up there aren't too many flaws to find," hitting coach Mickey Hatcher said. "He's having fun, and there's no signs of injury."

He's also been able to play catch -- receiving the ball as well as throwing it -- for several days. The Angels placed Vladimir Guerrero on the disabled list Saturday after he suffered a partially dislocated left shoulder the day before. "I think two weeks gives us a time frame to see where he's at," team physician Dr. Lewis Yocum said. "It's less traumatic than a true dislocation." However, Yocum said surgery is a possibility. Guerrero will have an MRI taken Monday or Tuesday, once the swelling dissipates.

"It's better, I'm fine," Guerrero said through an interpreter. "I've had two days of taking swings, and it feels great. I knew I had two months [after the injury] to get ready, so I wasn't concerned."
